There’s a good 5 feet between the Lexus and the window. The driver was a good 3+ feet away as she pulled up, then turned the wheel *to the right* to get even further away as she approached.
And yes, the window regulator does work - she opened the door and then reached through the window to get her coffee.

she opened the door and then reached through the window to get her coffee.
After their car broke down in the middle of the desert, three guys had to grab whatever they could carry and start walking. The first guy said “I’m bringing this water jug so we can stay hydrated.” The second said “I’m bringing a first aid kit in case we get hurt.”
The third guy grabbed some wrenches and started messing with the door hinge. The other two looked at him like “WTF?”
“I’m bring the car door so in case it gets hot, we can roll the window down.”
/dad joke, long form

Ah but I’m sure there’s a lot of scratches and dents from all of the off road adventure this LC Prado sees...

I was prepared to cut her some slack as at least my Disco has an appalling turning radius and going through the drive through is always a shit show but.... yeah if she turned right...

Ah - then you’ll appreciate the fact that the drive through worker held out the coffee as far as she could, and the driver grabbed it by the top.
I might have laughed out loud if the cup fell out of the lid.

I hated working drive tru, or register at all . I always opted to work kitchen instead. Like is much better when you don’t have to deal with customers.

This drive thru lane is 2 cars wide. After the left turn, it funnels to one, but honest to god, unless you’re driving a Suburban with a trailer, there’s room.

Sometimes I’m tempted to buy some kind of JDM car from Japanese Classics since they’re in Richmond just a couple hours away from me in DC. Aside from my not being in the market for any car anytime soon, my mind always goes to how with RHD, I’d have to get out of the car for drive thrus and paying for parking.

Just go through backwards!
Really though, how often do you go through a drive thru? For me, it’s not all that often - and going inside is always an option, which usually doesn’t take that much more time anyways.

I go to the Taco Bell drive thru semi-frequently. There’s one between my gym and my house. The Taco Bell app is very handy for creating and saving veganized versions of Taco Bell menu items. So if I don’t have food at home ready to eat after a workout, my usual post-gym grub spots are the Halal Guys and Chipotle in the same strip mall as my gym, or that Taco Bell on the way home. As you can see from this highly detailed diagram, the traffic flow of this particular Taco Bell drive thru is tightly restricted to one direction.
I
could
go inside, but part of the whole appeal of Taco Bell vs the other 2 options is the drive thru.
At my old office I parked in a garage where I had to get in and out with my badge but that’s less of a concern now. There are, however, a fair amount of parking garages and lots with gated/paid entry around here, even in the burbs.

In my experience, Lexus vehicles have the turn radius of a cargo train, but this? This is unacceptable and has nothing to do with turn radius. This is just idiocy.

should have honked, she would have jumped and dropped the coffee.

I did that in a Monte Carlo at the local McD’s, when my window regulator died.
I got bitched at by the manager, who told me I wasn’t allowed to use the drivethru if I was going to go backwards because it was dangerous for other customers..

Almost as good as the lady who kept turning in the drivethru in front of me the other day. She about drove over the curb in her Traverse, then proceeded to continue turning, right into the building with her front tire. Then reversed, wheels still turned, then pulled forward again hitting the building. After about 2 mins of back and forth off the building she finally figured out to put the phone down and turn the wheel the other way.

It’s a double wide lane with a left turn out that isn’t all that sharp either.
Sharper than the lady driving that GX460 though...

That lady needs to take the bus, honestly.

I’m most drawn to midsize rwd luxo sedans with turbo motors also found in sports cars, like the Cedric/Gloria, JZX90 triplets, and Aristo.

You’ve never seen me drive in reverse, I guess.
I used to work with a guy who had been
a
truck driver in the Army. He’
d back up a seven foot wide dirt trail with steep banks on both sides faster than I would drive down that trail going forward. He was real proficient
backing trailers into narrow spots too, which I can’t do at all
. However, h
e didn’t like driving in traffic
, so I’d drive on the road and we’d
switch places when we got to a job site.

I used to have to back our semis into tight spots at my old job, so I got very good at it very quick. Backing a truck with a 24ft car trailer behind it is as easy as driving forward for me. Backing a car, holy shit, I’ll back through the drive thru, then grab a forward gear and whip the nose around to drive out...

Did she rest her cheek in the palm of her hand while ordering, and preface every item with “Ummm, can I get ah” and “what’s in that one?”?
